Sports Awards 2017

Congratulations to all the children who received their awards on Friday. This year we have entered 20 different competitions with over 45 children participating from Reception all the way up to Year 6. We have come very close, on more than one occasion, to winning some of these events. For some reason Hindsford always seems to be the nearly team. Unfortunately, this is the tough side of sport that you all need to experience, as we cannot win everything in life!  However, you have all given 110% in your performance, and your behaviour, and because of this you all deserved to be recognised for the hard work and determination you offer whilst wearing our school colours and representing Hindsford with honour.

I would like to thank all the parents for all the support you have given us over the last academic year. You play a huge part in the success story of sporting achievement at Hindsford.

We might be a small school but we have a BIG heart. The turnout and atmosphere on Friday night proved that.

Youngest EVER player

Arley Tafa is the first ever child in Reception to represent school at a sports event. Nothing seems to phase any of the Tafa boys, especially where sport is concerned.  Arley should be very proud of his achievement. A promising young footballer in the making.

Sports Day Shield Winners

Congratulations to PEGASUS HOUSE who are the overall winners of Sports Day.

The winners were announced in Celebration Worship and Ruby (Captain) & Charlie (Vice-Captain) collected the shield on behalf of their house.

Sports day, which was organised and delivered by Wigan Warriors Rugby Club, was a HUGE success and loved by all the children, and parents, at Hindsford. We have had some lovely comments and positive feedback.

Karate Kid

Congratulations to Elise Culbert (Y6) who has achieved her 2nd Dan title in Karate. Mum has told us that Elise has, for the last few months, focused all her spare time and energy preparing for her grading. I am massively proud of this achievement and so should Elise and her family be.
