Karate Kid

Congratulations to Elise Culbert (Y6) who has achieved her 2nd Dan title in Karate. Mum has told us that Elise has, for the last few months, focused all her spare time and energy preparing for her grading. I am massively proud of this achievement and so should Elise and her family be.

Wigan Warriors Trip

On Friday evening, 62 children from KS2 visited the DW Stadium to watch Wigan Warriors take on Leigh Centurions. Before the game, all our children went onto the pitch to wave the team flags as they made their way onto the pitch for the start of the game. At Half time a selection of children joined myself to collect a certificate which celebrates my position as school ambassador for Wigan Warriors. This was presented by a first team player on the pitch. As we waited to be collected near the team changing rooms, Sean Wane (the Wigan manager) gave a ‘thumbs up’ to Ryley Tafa. This is a moment he will never forget. Luke Parkes-Holden said, “this is the best day of my life”. I completely agree with Luke, this was a fantastic experience for the children at Hindsford. A 20-0 win for the Warriors made it ever so sweeter.

Boxing Bootcamp

The hard work didn’t stop for some of our children as they took part in a boxing boot camp on Monday. Not only did they learn boxing techniques, they also gained valuable life skills. What a positive way to spend the school holidays.

Big thanks to Tom from Halton Riverside Boxing. A great role model!
